Saltwater Scholars
Where sailing sparks curiosity and confidence!
Saltwater Scholars is a vibrant sailing programme designed specifically for young people aged 10–16, running each Monday, during term-time with a break during the summer school holidays. Whether you’re stepping into a boat for the first time or already have some experience, each session offers hands-on learning, adventure, and plenty of fun.Junior Private Dinghy Sailing Lesson (One-Day)
Embark on a personalized sailing adventure with our one-day private dinghy lesson, tailored exclusively for Juniors. This session offers hands-on experience under the guidance of our experienced instructors. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the ropes or an intermediate sailor aiming to refine your skills, our lesson adapts to your pace and goals.
Mini-Mariners – Parent & Child Sailing Sessions
Let your little one experience the joy of sailing – safely and confidently – with you by their side and an experienced RYA instructor leading the way in the boat! Each session is 90 minutes long and booking fee includes hire of wetsuit, boots, and buoyancy aids.
Junior RYA Stage 2, afternoons Dinghy Course
Take your sailing skills to the next level with our RYA Stage 2 course at Findhorn Watersports. This comprehensive 5 half-day program builds on the fundamentals and develops your confidence on the water.
Perfect for those who have completed Stage 1 or have equivalent experience.
Friday Social Sailing – Juniors
These are sessions for all ages, and are a chance to get out on the water under the guidance of an instructor for sailing.
These sessions will run from 9th May weekly, with the last Friday social session on 29th August.
These sessions are for skills development and for those who already hold sailing experience to the Royal Yachting Association Level 2 dinghy certificate, RYA Stage 3 certificate or the actual certificates themselves.
Junior RYA Stages 3 & 4 all day Dinghy Sailing Course
This intensive five-day course combines RYA Stage 3 and Stage 4 of the Youth Sailing Scheme, offering a comprehensive development programme for young sailors who have already achieved RYA Stage 2. By the end of the week, participants should be confident and independent in double-handed sailing and ready to take on more advanced sailing challenges.
Junior Orcas Dinghy Sailing Session – mornings (school holidays only)
Our Orca sailing sessions are designed for young sailors who have already achieved Stage 3, and are looking to build confidence and skills while working towards Stage 4. For those who have achieved Stage 4, there will also be a focus on developing seamanship skills and starting race preparation, whilst enjoying time on the water.

RYA Start Racing – 2 day course

Perfect for sailors who have mastered the basics and want to experience the thrill of competitive sailing.
This comprehensive two-day course introduces you to racing techniques, rules, and strategies in a supportive environment.
Junior Seals Dinghy Sailing Session
Seals is a session that helps young people with a small amount of sailing experience to progress their sailing skills. This session may include wind activities on the beach, as well as sailing, as this is a session intended to help with building confidence and wind awareness in young people. Open to 8 years to 14 years, these sessions run on Saturdays, between 0930 – 1230hrs or 1330 – 1630hrs (all day sessions are available, please contact us for details).
It is suitable for children with RYA Stage 1 certification – making it the perfect next step in their sailing journey. There are a maximum number of 12 children on each day and we need a minimum of 3 children to run these sessions.
