RYA Dinghy Instructor Course

Course Requirements
Before attending, candidates must hold:
RYA Pre-Entry Sailing Assessment completion
Valid First Aid Certificate (minimum 6 hours, recognised by the RYA)
RYA Safe and Fun Safeguarding Certificate
RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate
Minimum age: 16 years

Daily Schedule
Time: 0915hrs to 1830hrs each day
Location: Findhorn Watersports Centre
Please ensure you arrive promptly and are prepared to start each day at 0915hrs.
What to Bring
To get the most out of your course, you must bring:
Suitable dinghy sailing kit (wetsuit or drysuit, buoyancy aid, appropriate footwear, gloves, warm layers, hat, and sunscreen)
A packed lunch and sufficient snacks
A reusable water bottle
Notebook and pen
RYA Instructor Logbook (if available)
There are no catering facilities on-site; you must be self-sufficient throughout the day.
Important Notes
This is a demanding course that requires a high level of sailing ability, stamina, and commitment. You should arrive well-prepared, physically fit, and ready to spend long days both afloat and ashore. Weather conditions can vary significantly — you must be equipped to handle all conditions.

Honest, professional feedback will be provided throughout, ensuring you leave the course with clear direction for your future development, whether you qualify immediately or need further experience.
