Two-day RYA powerboat courses at Findhorn Watersports on Findhorn Bay, running 09:15 to 16:30 each day. Our experienced, professional instructors give clear, practical coaching tailored to your level of experience, in small groups for maximum hands-on learning.
Courses available:
- Powerboat Level 2 - the national standard for powerboat handling. Launching and recovery, confined space manoeuvring, mooring, man overboard recovery, high-speed handling, navigation and the basic rules of the road, and emergency procedures. You leave with the competence to helm a powerboat independently and the internationally recognised RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, which can be commercially endorsed with additional modules
- Safety Boat - boat preparation and handling, rescue techniques for dinghies, windsurfers, kayaks and canoes including towing, operational skills such as race support, mark laying and communication protocols, and safety awareness covering craft suitability, local factors and VHF and first aid readiness. On completion you earn the RYA Safety Boat certificate, enabling you to crew safety cover for fleets during training or racing events

What to bring
- Packed lunch and drinks - there are limited food outlets nearby
- Waterproof jacket and trousers if you have them - you will be exposed to the elements
- Sturdy shoes or boots you do not mind getting wet - no open-toed shoes or flip-flops
- Warm layers - the weather can change quickly on the water, even in summer
- Towel and a change of clothes
