Multihull Taster Session

Multihull Taster Session

The fast one - two hulls, no leaning, proper speed!

A multihull is a catamaran — two slim hulls with a trampoline stretched between them, and you sit out on the trampoline rather than down inside a boat. Because the width is what keeps it upright, it doesn't lean the way a single-hulled dinghy does. It sits flat and steady, then picks up speed in a way that takes most people by surprise. That combination is what makes it such a good first sail: reassuring enough to relax into straight away, and quick enough to be genuinely exhilarating.

Join us for a relaxed, low-pressure introduction to multihull sailing with a qualified and experienced instructor in Findhorn Bay.

You will experience steering and controlling a multihull under sail, learn about sail handling, balance and boat control, and feel the speed and responsiveness that makes multihull sailing so much fun.

Whether you are an experienced dinghy sailor looking to try something different, or simply fancy experiencing multihull sailing for the first time, this is a great way to get out on the water and discover just how much fun these boats can be. No previous multihull experience is needed.

Our P5-7 pupils benefited from 6 weeks of weekly sailing during the summer term. Despite poor weather for the first few sessions, the team made the experience enjoyable and engaging for the pupils. All our pupils thoroughly enjoyed their Tuesdays in Findhorn, learned new knowledge and skills, built their resilience and learned how to work together to sail! On the final sailing day we were blessed with beautiful sunshine and just enough wind to show off our newly acquired skills.

Had a great sail after hiring two boats for the family. Really friendly staff, good kit, and a beautiful location for a trip on the water.

2x kids booked on an RYA stage 2 course all week. They had a fantastic time despite some testing (very windy) weather conditions. I wouldn’t trust anyone else except Jane to enthuse the joy of sailing into my offspring. Will 100% be back — already planning how we can escape the hustle & bustle of normal life again before the end of the summer! The water taxi was a huge hit with our younger and older members who weren’t up for the sailing. It even came with some fantastic local tour guiding for good measure.

All in all, a great week was had by all in the most incredible surroundings with a brilliant facility, well maintained quality kit and some excellent tuition.

Completed our level 1 as a group of four adults. The staff and facilities were great and they really tailored the course to meet our needs. Would definitely recommend.

Needed to cross the bay for a run between Elgin and Nairn. They agreed to take me across even though they are closed in Winter. Really helpful and great communication. Thanks guys.
