Dinghy Sailing Junior

Getting kids on the water makes us smile here at Findhorn Watersports!

Seals is a drop-in day of sailing or wind toys activities (weather dependant) bookable a week in advance, and with a maximum number of 12 children on each day.

They run on Saturdays, from 1000hrs until 1530hrs. These sessions will be runninng from 3rd May until 25th October. Please note that we need a minimum of 3 children to run this activity. Age limits  8 – 14 years old.

RYA Youth Sailing Scheme – Combined Stages 1 & 2 all day dinghy sailing course.

This 5-day course combines the RYA Stage 1 and Stage 2 syllabi into one comprehensive week of training, ideal for young sailors keen to progress rapidly.

Delivered in the sheltered yet challenging waters of Findhorn Bay, the course builds core sailing skills through a blend of practical on-the-water sessions, theory, and fun group activities.

Running in the school holidays and for RYA Stage 2+ Young Sailors age 8 – 14 years.

Running every morning for 5 mornings, between 0900hrs and 1300hrs, these dynamic sessions are designed for children who have already achieved their RYA Stage 2 certificate or higher.

Running every afternoon for 5 days between 1400 – 1800hrs, these dynamic sessions are designed for children who have already achieved their RYA Stage 2 certificate or higher.

RYA Stage 3 Youth Sailing Course.

Develop Confidence, Independence & Seamanship.

The RYA Stage 3 sailing course is a significant milestone in a young sailor’s journey. Delivered by qualified RYA instructors at Findhorn Watersports, this course builds on the foundations of Stages 1 and 2, aiming to consolidate existing skills while developing greater independence and confidence on the water.

This five-day course is designed for young sailors who have completed their RYA Stage 1 and are ready to build on their foundational sailing skills.

Combining RYA Stages 2 and 3, this course offers a comprehensive progression through the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, with participants working toward greater independence and confidence on the water.

RYA Stage 4 Sailing Course
Course Overview
Take your sailing skills to the next level with our comprehensive RYA Stage 4 course at Findhorn Watersports.

This 5-day program is designed for sailors who have completed Stage 3 and are ready to develop their independence on the water and refine their sailing techniques.

This intensive five-day course combines RYA Stage 3 and Stage 4 of the Youth Sailing Scheme, offering a comprehensive development programme for young sailors who have already achieved RYA Stage 2.

By the end of the week, participants should be confident and independent in double-handed sailing and ready to take on more advanced sailing challenges.

RYA Youth Sailing Scheme: Stages 3 & 4 Combined Course (5 Days)
Times: 0930 – 1630 daily

These are sessions for all ages, and are a chance to get out on the water under the guidance of an instructor for sailing.

These sessions will run from 9th May weekly, with the last Friday social session on 29th August.

These sessions are for skills development and for those who already hold sailing experience to the Royal Yachting Association Level 2 dinghy certificate, RYA Stage 3 certificate or the actual certificates themselves.

Junior After School Sailing Club

Fridays | 1330 – 1630hrs | Ages 8+ | Term Time Only

Give your young sailor the opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun on the water with our Junior After School Sailing Club at Findhorn Watersports. These term-time sessions are designed specifically for young people aged 8 and over who are keen to discover the world of sailing in a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
